Weekend Update

Well, it's been a busy week. And another hot and dry one. Tomatoes are doing okay with the weather, but everything else is suffering. I try to water a little every morning. Everyone's grass is brown. I'm working on salsa every day. The paste tomatoes aren't ready yet, so I haven't started on any tomato sauce. Andrew is done with his summer internship and home for a week. So we are enjoying visiting with him. The budget is close to being approved at work - which is the earliest they've gotten it done. So we should have a good start to the ministry year.

Hot weather returns

Well I must say that I am ready for some cooler weather at this point. It's hard to walk, hard to garden and hard to drive anywhere without a/c in the car. But the weather report says another week of hot mid 90's and little rain. Canned my first batch of salsa tonight. No word on my lung and heart tests yet.

Early Anniversary Lunch

John treated me to an early anniversary lunch at Smokey Bones! We had a good time - I told John all about the time my dad took Daniel, Andrew & I to Smokey Bones in Indianapolis - good memories! Tonight the women's group (Epiphany) is meeting to try to put together a new piece for the women's kick-off in September. We've lost two members, but have found two new ones! I am looking forward to practice. Didn't get to walk today after two days of doing my 30 minutes. I may try to walk when I get home from practice, since it should be cooler by then. I'm not sure about trying to walk in the morning, like I did Tuesday before work. I had great energy all day - but it was hard to get cooled down after my shower and I ended up going to work with wet hair. Next week I am working later hours and that will give me more time in the morning to walk and get ready for work.

We are back to the Hot Humid weather! I got up early today and did my walk before it was too bad. Then watered the garden - everything is looking pretty dry and droopy. But the hot weather is great for ripening tomatoes! Brought in about 10 today and some habanero peppers - salsa time! And I need to get working on the apples. It's a busy time of year - but great to begin to enjoy the fruits of my labors!
